The Sanpa Woven Hat from The Hands That Heal Us Bethany Williams collection is made using deadstock fabric which utilises pre existing material that would otherwise end up in landfill. Using deadstock creates a second life for waste textiles without creating the demand for new virgin materials to be produced.
The bespoke woven textile that features on this garment has been hand woven by the design lab within San Patrignano, a support organisation based in Italy helping those wth substance addiction by providing them with a home, support network and the opportunity to learn new skills and degree level training.
The garment has been made in England by one of our local manufacturing partners. We work hard to ensure our production is close to home, to promote and support local supply chains within the UK.
The Sanpa Woven Hat is a part of The Hands That Heal Us AW22 collection, inspired by the ever growing community of makers, creatives, local and social manufacturers all of whom play such an integral part in the Bethany Williams brand and supply chain. This season we worked once again with artist Melissa Kitty Jarram for the print story, who was asked to integrate and interpret all of the making partners and their specific role in the supply chain into the artworks.
